The Government recently announced that Colombia Telecomunicaciones
(“TELECOM”), Colombia’s publicly owned
incumbent long distance operator, is looking for strategic
partners, most likely in the sector of mobile telecommunications.
TELECOM operates in 940 Municipalities in Colombia, having
3 million installed fixed lines and around 2.000 employees.
Furthermore, it is the incumbent long distance national
and international operator.
