Prieto & Carrizosa’s lawyers are members of ASIPI (Interamerican Association of Intellectual Property).  ASIPI is a not-for-profit association that seeks to bring together concerned professionals to study, disseminate and develop intellectual property laws and to coordinate and harmonize such laws in the Americas.  With a membership of over 800 trademark professionals, ASIPI advises governments and inter-governmental entities regarding revisions to intellectual property regimes.

Prieto & Carrizosa´s lawyers are members of the IFA, the only non-governmental and non-sectoral international organization dealing with fiscal matters.   Its objectives are the study and advancement of international and comparative law with regards to public finance, specifically international and comparative fiscal law and the financial and economic aspects of taxation.

Prieto & Carrizosa’s tax lawyers are active members of the ICDT (Colombian Institute of Tax Law).  The Institute’s objectives are the study and investigation of fiscal law.  It has approximately 900 members.  ICDT is a member of the and of the International Fiscal Association’s Colombia Chapter.

The International Academy of Estate and Trust Law

One of our Firm’s senior partners is a member of the International Academy of Estate & Trust Law.  Whose members currently practice or have offices in twenty-six countries.  Membership is highly selective.  The Academy bylaws limit membership to one-fourth of one percent of the notaries, solicitors, lawyers, judges, and professors of any country.  All Academicians must have practiced law in the Academy’s areas of interest for at least ten years, and must have distinguished themselves through lecturing, writing, or participation in professional organizations.  They must also have demonstrated a significant interest in the continuing development of their own country’s laws.
