Juan Carlos Rocha, a partner in Prieto & Carrizosa, specializes in general representation of companies in corporate matters. He is highly recognized for his knowledge of and experience in privatizations processes, project finance, and energy projects. Mr. Rocha has represented several important Colombian and international clients in various corporate matters, including foreign investments, contracts, restructurings, and the development of new projects, among others. He has also advised the Colombian government in various privatization processes, especially in the energy sector. According to Chambers Global 2007, "commentators praised him for ‘successfully handling difficult transactions, particularly those involving financial M&A issues.'"

Mr. Rocha has been a professor of civil law at the Universidad del Rosario (1992) and a lecturer on corporate law and energy law in Colombia. Prior to entering the Firm he was in-house counsel to Notary Public 32 in Bogotá (1988), the legal director of Fondo DRI, Colombia's Department of Agriculture (1991), and in-house counsel to Acerías Paz del Río S.A. (1992).
